A pair of candidates face off for mayor

Voters will choose between two candidates for mayor of Camden in the April 7 municipal election. The candidates are incumbent Vicky Jordan and Jim Covey. To provide voters with a better understanding of candidates’ views, Richmond News requested both candidates respond to several questions. Jordan, 57, is a graduate of Orrick High School and works for Magna Structures. She is seeking her third term as mayor. She has lived in Camden for 29 years, where she raised her three children and now has grandchildren growing up in the community. “I am running for office because I believe I can continue to make a positive change in Camden,” she said. Covey is a longtime resident of Camden and previously served on the city council. He has lived in Camden for 74 years.
