Trio seeks Henrietta aldermen seats

A three-person race will determine who fills two seats on the Henrietta Board of Aldermen in the April 7 municipal election. The candidates are Jared Ahart, Payton Stephenson and Robert Moppin. To give voters a better understanding of candidates’ views, Richmond News requested all candidates respond to questions. Attempts to contact Ahart and Moppin using phone numbers provided by the Ray County Clerk’s Office were unsuccessful. Stephenson, 25, is a resident of Henrietta and works for Liberty Hospital. He completed trade school and has worked in several maintenance positions for school districts, a hospital and a church. He has lived in Henrietta for four years and is married to his wife, Grace. “I am running for political office so I can help make a difference in Henrietta and help restore Henrietta back to a great town,” said Stephenson.
