Residents continue pressing county on enforcement, transparency
Residents again pushed for answers from Ray County Commissoners regarding public records access and the enforcement of county regulations.
During a recent commissioners meeting, discussion returned to the handling of potential violations of county regulations and the Sunshine Law request process.
Resident Brianna Rock raised questions about a property owned by Tim Rash, citing a cease-anddesist order issued more than a year ago and asking what steps had been taken since.
“I understand we sent out a cease-and-desist and that was over a year ago and he’s still having weddings,” said Rock. “So, I was curious, did we ever send a probable cause statement?”
Rock questioned what the next steps are when a business continues to operate in violation of county regulations. She compared the situation to other types of businesses, asking why similar enforcement measures had not been taken.
