Hardin native finds purpose serving local students

The beginning of each school day at Hardin-Central Elementary begins with a familiar routine as students step off buses, climb out of vehicles and make their way toward the front doors. Waiting inside to greet them is Elementary Secretary Tesha Buhrmeister. As Elementary Secretary, Buhrmeister’s role touches nearly every part of the school day. She helps welcome students as they arrive each morning, tracks attendance for both the elementary and high school, manages preschool tuition and assists staff members throughout the building when extra help is needed. Whether that means stepping into a classroom so a teacher can step away briefly, helping prepare classroom materials or addressing questions from students and families, her responsibilities often shift from one task to the next. “You never know what the day will bring,” said Buhrmeister. “If a teacher needs help in the classroom, or someone needs help making copies, or if a student just needs something, it’s just different…
