Ray County Sheriff Gary Blackwell used a recent podcast appearance to explain how leadership principles translate into day-to-day decisions, including jail operations, staffing pressures and serving one of Missouri’s most rural counties. Blackwell discussed those issues during an episode of the Missouri Sheriffs’ Association podcast Sheriffs Talk, hosted by Michael Laidler and co-hosted by Clay County Sheriff Will Akin. While the episode was released recently, portions of the conversation indicate it was recorded earlier in Blackwell’s first term as sheriff.
