Rescue facility built on compassion earns community recognition
A local rescue facility built to help the most vulnerable animals has grown from a single act of compassion into a community-supported mission focused on saving cats with nowhere else to go.
Ace’s Sanctuary & Cat Rescue was founded by Teresa Jennings, who is one of the top three nominees for Best Community Volunteer in the Town and Country Leader’s Annual Local Legends Contest. This contest, hosted annually by the newspaper, begins with community write-in nominations across various categories. The top three nominees or organizations then advance to a second round, where the final winner is chosen through public voting.
Ace’s Sanctuary & Cat Rescue officially began in September 2020. However, the work started months earlier, during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, when 15 bottle-fed kittens were brought to the animal clinic where Jennings was working in March of that year.
