Ray County 911 Board reviews construction progress

Construction on the new Ray County 911 center is continuing to advance, as board members reviewed progress on earth work, discussed ongoing coordination with engineers and worked through early administrative challenges tied to insurance requirements and the first construction payment. Board Member Chad Burnine noted crews have been active on site since the groundbreaking, running dozers, checking grade and preparing the property for additional work. He told the board soil conditions created complications because of the heavy moisture in the clay, but contractors continued pushing forward through the week. Wilcox Construction Representative Mike Wilkins, who recently visited the project, provided a written update to board members prior to the meeting. “He started field observation of construction on activities at the reference project,” explained Burnine.
