February 29, 1936 - November 10, 2025 Erma Neona (Shook) Park, 89, of Richmond, MO., passed on Monday, November 10, 2025, at her home under the care of her family and hospice team, following a valiant battle against lung cancer.
Erma was born on February 29, 1936, in Roscoe, MO. Erma was the youngest of nine children born to Thomas Edward Shook and Della May Lingle, all of whom had preceded her in death. Her husband, James Richard Park, passed in 2020 and they were married for 49 years.
Erma worked a variety of jobs in her life with most related to accounting and numbers. She referred to herself as a gypsy as she had a love for traveling. This was evident from long treks from Independence as a single mother to touring the US with her husband, Jim, which included several summer-long stints as campground hosts.
Erma is survived by: three daughters, Peggy Brumfield and her husband, Nelson; Luana Bloom and her husband David “Beau”; Kristi McCoy and her husband Paul; two sons, Phillip Sloan and his wife Barbie; Jeffrey Park and his wife Terri; and many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Services for Erma’s husband, Jim Park, were not held in 2020 due to Covid restrictions. At Erma’s request, both Jim and Erma will be honored at the Memorial Service.
The Joint Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Kingston Church of the Nazarene, Kingston, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making donations to your charitable cause of choice in the name of Jim and Erma Park.
