Following the Golden Brick Road to a Win

Float building is a tradition that goes on every year at Homecoming. Students get all week to work on their float. Students may start as early as midnight the Friday before Homecoming week. Students get one day during the school week to work on it too. This year’s theme was Fairy Tale: Once Upon a Time. The senior class won the float competition with their Wizard of Oz themed float. The junior class got second with their theme from Tangled. Sophomore earned third with a Cinderella themed float and Freshmen came in fourth with their Jack and the Bean Stock. The senior class thought that their biggest competition was going to be the sophomores this year. The sophomores won the float competition last year when they were freshmen, beating the seniors when they were juniors. “We had won freshmen and sophomore year [but] lost to the freshmen class [when we were juniors so] we wanted to beat them this year,” said Class President Genevive Didier.
