Bearcats honor David Nail with press box dedication
For more than four decades, one familiar face has been a steady presence above Bearcat Stadium, faithfully keeping time as Orrick football unfolded below.
Before a recent Friday night home football game, the Orrick Booster Club honored David and Christie Nail for their years of service to the Orrick R-XI School District. After 42 years of running the scoreboard and clock, David’s retirement was celebrated with a surprise dedication naming the press box in his honor.
“David has been in the Bearcats press box running the scoreboard at every single home game for 42 years,” said Orrick Booster Club affiliate Tyne Morgan. “There aren’t many things David Nail will park the combine for, but Bearcat football has always been one of them.”
