Aggies tame Wildcats on homecoming night
On Oct. 3, Jace McNelly and Zach Deitch were crowned homecoming king for Hardin-Central and Norborne, respectively.
But something else took place that night that mattered more to them: the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) vs. the Slater/Malta Bend co-op varsity 8-man football game at Hardin-Central, in which both of them played.
“I didn’t care about getting king or anything,” said Deitch, a Norborne senior. “We just wanted to get a win.”
The Aggies got the win, crushing Slater/Malta Bend 61-30 to remain undefeated.
“We’re very proud of our boys for staying dialed in and focused this week,” Aggies coach Andrew Watson said. “Obviously, we want them to enjoy all the homecoming memories and stuff like that, but they did a good job staying dialed in at practice and remembering the real purpose of homecoming week.”
Officially, Deitch helped the lockedin Aggies (6-0 overall) get the win by leading NHC in all-purpose yards with 78, including 31 punt return yards. His cousin, Hardin-Central…
