Aggies stay undefeated, play ‘most complete game’
Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) played its “most complete game of the season” in thumping Lincoln 58-24 Sept. 26 at Hardin-Central in varsity 8-man football, according to NHC coach Andrew Watson.
“Overall, I was very pleased with our effort,” Watson stated Tuesday via email.
Gage Smith led the Aggies in their “complete” effort. Officially, the Hardin-Central senior paced NHC’s ground game with 96 yards and four touchdowns on 10 carries. Defensively, he was the Aggies’ top tackler with 10, including eight solo tackles.
“Gage had a great night for us on both sides of the ball,” Watson stated. “He was physical on defense and caused some real problems for Lincoln’s offense. Offensively, he did a great job of running behind his pads, following his blocks and getting downhill. He’s a big kid, so once he gets rolling, he’s tough to stop.” The Aggies (5-0 overall) will look to keep their undefeated season rolling Friday, when they’ll host the Slater/Malta Bend co-op at Hardin-Central for…
