Orrick’s 47-8 Sept. 26 road loss to Concordia in varsity 8-man football taught the Bearcats a lesson, coach Matt O’Dell acknowledged.
“We learned from the loss, in terms of physical games back to back and the energy we need to bring to those matchups,” stated O’Dell, whose squad had faced NHC the previous week.
Junior Gage Tebbe paced the Bearcats (2-3 overall) in rushing in the defeat with 60 yards on nine carries. Tebbe’s other contributions on offense included a third-quarter TD reception from Xavior Gaskins.
Defensively, seniors Lucas Walker and Trent Windsor led Orrick with 13 tackles each. Walker was credited with 11 solo tackles and two assisted tackles. Walker’s contributions on offense included the twopoint conversion run following Gaskins’ TD pass to Tebbe.
Windsor had seven assisted tackles and six solo tackles. His contributions on offense included a 43-yard reception.
