Richmond netters enter light week after MRVC East duals
Richmond tennis coach Zachary Baldauf and his girls squad get a bit of a breather this week.
The Spartans were scheduled for one competition – a Missouri River Valley Conference-East Division (MRVC East) dual Tuesday with visiting Lafayette County of Higginsville, which Richmond lost 9-0.
“It’ll be good,” Baldauf said Sept. 25. “I wish we could move one of the matches up a week and get a practice in on that Monday or Tuesday before tournaments. But it’ll be our last chance to really work through some stuff, so it’ll be good to have a couple practices in a row that we can work on some of our skills and try to get things improved.”
In contrast, the Richmond girls had three duals last week – all against MRVC East schools. They opened the week Sept. 22 with a 9-0 road loss to Carrollton.
On Sept. 24, the Spartans tied with visiting Holden 2-2. It was Richmond’s second draw this season.
