Board renews Ray Rocks permit, approves new plats, hardships

Ray Rocks outdoor recreation and entertainment cleared another hurdle as officials granted renewal of its conditional use permit, despite concerns over construction delays and an unfinished septic system. The site, located on the north side of Highway 10 on roughly 460 acres in Sections 17 through 20 of Township 52, Range 28, came before the board for its third annual review. Members noted progress but also addressed questions about the timeline for a Department of Natural Resources–regulated septic system. Planning and Zoning Administrator Stacy Wolfe said, as far as she knows, her department had not received any formal complaints. Board members and developers explained the system is still in progress but falls under Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) oversight.
