Robinson sentenced to seven years after jail escape
A case that once drew headlines for a violent jail escape attempt has now ended with a prison sentence in Ray County.
Justin Jerome Robinson of Richmond pleaded guilty earlier this week to felony escape or attempted escape from confinement by striking a person and was sentenced to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, according to court records. Prosecutors dismissed a related assault charge as part of the plea deal. Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Kevin L. Walden accepted the agreement after finding Robinson’s plea was voluntary and supported by evidence. The order waived a sentencing assessment report and authorized an additional officer to accompany the sheriff in transporting Robinson to prison. Court records also show Robinson was ordered to pay $46 to the Crime Victims Compensation Fund, along with other court costs.
