County represented at Missouri State Fair Fire Department
Ray County first responders played a visible role at this year’s Missouri State Fair Fire Department, joining a record-setting operation and bringing home recognition for their work.
The Missouri State Fair Fire Department provides fire and emergency medical responses during the fair. Operated by members of the Firefighters Association of Missouri (MSFFD), the department is recognized as the only fully operational fire department in the U.S. that functions for just 11 days annually.
Trish Fields, a volunteer with the Richmond Fire Department and a member of Ray County Ambulance District (RCAD), has served with the Missouri State Fair Fire Department for four years. She worked on the EMS, fire and public relations teams and received the EMS Provider of the Year Award 2025.
“The fire department sent her, but we’re extremely proud of her and all her help,” said RCAD Chief Mac Rogers. “Normally, we provide services, but this year they had more equipment. It was a statewide volunteer…
