Engines roar for Richmond’s class of 2027

MIRANDA JAMISON Rows of gleaming chrome, roaring engines and polished paint jobs will take over the Richmond High School parking lot next month. But behind the spectacle of cars and motorcycles is a clear purpose – raising money to ensure the class of 2027 can celebrate safely at Prom and Graduation. Organizer Brian James noted the event was born from a desire to try something beyond the usual bake sales and raffles. “Every year, fundraising is needed for Prom and the Graduating class,” said James. “These can be a variety of things that we have all seen before, but the parents in our class thought, why not something bold and different, and the Auto Show became the answer.” James explained an auto show stood out from traditional fundraisers because of its lasting impact. “Our show is something the kids will always remember as a big event and also something that they had the opportunity to help with in more ways than one,” stated James.
