Pickleball, music scenes keep Georgia on a dreamer’s mind

Some recent good news got me to thinking about pickleball again. On July 2, I had an appointment at an orthopedic clinic in North Kansas City as a follow-up to my June hip replacement surgery. Because I had begun experiencing some shoulder discomfort within the past few months, I had my shoulders X-rayed, too. The verdict from the doctor who saw me was that the incision where my fake hip had been inserted was secure and my leg was healing nicely from the surgery. He also said he didn’t think something as drastic as shoulder surgery was necessary, recommending that I use anti-inflammatories, a shoulder brace and maybe cortisone shots to manage any shoulder pain. His verdict was, I have bursitis, rather than a torn rotator cuff or a deteriorating shoulder socket. Encouraged by his opinion, I’m slowing working my way back to…
