King surprises herself at districts

CHILLICOTHE – Kaylee King probably wasn’t surprised at qualifying for sectionals in girls track and field in three events. She was surprised, however, at qualifying in a fourth event. King, who graduated last week from Richmond High School, will represent her alma mater at Class 3 Sectional 4 competition Saturday at Archie in the 100-meter high hurdles, the long and triple jumps, and the 300 low hurdles. She secured her spots in those events with topfour finishes May 10 at Class 3 District 8 competition at Chillicothe. King won two of her events at districts – the 100 hurdles and the long jump. Her time in the 100 hurdles, 15.64 seconds, was an overall personal best, she said. King placed second in the triple jump.
