Letter To The Editor
Dear Editor, I am a history teacher at Rolla High School in Rolla, Mis. We take an annual history trip with our top students each year. This year, we traveled to St. Joseph and then down to Richmond and Lexington to visit the historical sites in those locations.
We were able to visit the Ray County Historical Society Museum on Sunday, April 7. I had been in touch with Cathy Gottsch as early as the summer of 2024 to make plans for our trip. Gottsch and her staff made special arrangements so we could include the museum as part of our tour.
We travel yearly to several different places and Gottsch is one of the best people to work with. Honestly, many places we go aren’t thrilled to be visited by a group of 50 high school students, even though our groups are always very well-behaved and polite. Gottsch and her team excitedly welcomed us and opened the museum outside regular hours for our visit. Our kids really enjoyed their time in Richmond and learned a lot of great history.
