Timothy William “Tim” Abbott, 68, of Richmond died Monday, April 7, 2025, at Aspire Senior Living in Oak Grove.

Tim was born Nov. 19, 1956, in Kansas City, the son of Kenneth E. and Nessie (Brock) Abbott.

He was united in marriage to Debra Louise “Debbie” Kendrick of Excelsior Springs on July 12, 1986. She preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2015.

Survivors include his son, Alan (Jennifer) Mullikin of Cameron; and daughter, Jessica (Randy Jr.) Gardner of Excelsior Springs. Other survivors include six grandchildren, Haley, Tristian, Kendrick, Slade, Parker and Finnegan; and four great-grandchildren, Maison, Ember, Evelyn and Vhada. He also is survived by a brother, Kenneth Abbott of Lexington; and a sister, Nancy (Jim) Edens of Richmond.

In addition to his wife, Timothy was preceded in death by his parents.

Tim was raised and educated in the Richmond area, graduating with the Richmond High School class of 1975. He went on to attend Central Missouri State University (now the University of Central Missouri) in Warrensburg.

Tim worked as a painter, a trade he took great pride in throughout his life. He had a deep love for music, whether it was playing his guitar or trumpet, listening to his favorite songs or enjoying a good night of karaoke.

A devoted grandfather and family man, Tim cherished the time he spent with his loved ones. He also was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer on his grandchildren at their games.

He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Farris Theatre. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
