Thomas Duane Twyman, lovingly known as “Coach T,” passed away March 28, 2025, at age 69.

A resident of Hardin, Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and mentor whose impact on his family and community will be felt for generations to come.

Tom was born July 26, 1955, in Fairfax to Homer Duane and Anna Leigh Twyman. He graduated in 1973 from Orrick High School.

On May 27, 1978, he married the love of his life, Teresa Lee; and together, they built a beautiful life, sharing 46 years of marriage.

Tom dedicated 35 years of his life to the construction industry, retiring as a foreman for JE Dunn. Following his retirement, he found joy in substitute teaching, where he continued to shape young minds in several local school districts.

A true sports enthusiast, Tom had an unwavering passion for youth athletics. He spent countless hours coaching high school baseball, basketball and volleyball, as well as various youth league teams.

He took great pride in mentoring young athletes, many of whom he considered his own children. He never missed a chance to cheer on Hardin athletic teams and found some of his greatest joy when his children and grandchildren took the field or court.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Anna Twyman; his nephew, Tyler Twyman; both sets of grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Teresa Twyman; four children, Mindy Wheeler, Angela Twyman, Abby Twyman and Tommie (Adam) Allred; and two brothers, Mike (Tracie) Twyman and Tim (Maria) Twyman.

He also is survived by 10 grandchildren: Martha Crippen, Robbie (Alex) Crippen, Ethan Polk, Zoey Polk, Julie Polk, TJ Danner, Aalaigha Danner, Spencer Twyman, Emille Allred and Ila Allred.

Tom will be remembered for his kindness, dedication and the countless lives he touched through his work and love of sports. His family, friends and former players will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
