Baldauf takes reins of RHS boys tennis program

A new coaching era in Richmond varsity boys tennis kicked off Monday. That afternoon, the Spartans opened their season and Missouri River Valley Conference (MRVC)-East Division schedule with a 5-4 dual home win over Knob Noster – their first competition under Zachary Baldauf. Baldauf, in his first assignment as a head tennis coach, succeeds Brett Terry. He inherits a program with six players. “There’s just not a ton of experience,” Baldauf said March 21 during practice at Maurice Roberts Park in Richmond. “But I like what I’ve seen, in terms of willingness get better; and it means that there is a lot of room for improvement, which I’ve seen a lot of from even two weeks ago, when we first started practices up, to today.” That inexperienced, yet eager group consists of two juniors and four sophomores.
