Local expert demystifies Medicare options
A local insurance agent recently hosted an informative seminar focused on Medicare coverage, offering attendees an extensive look at the different plan options available. The seminar aimed to educate community members about the intricacies of Medicare with a detailed overview of the various plan options available.
Local insurance agent David Ashlock started by discussing the fundamentals of Medicare Parts A and B. Part A, which includes hospital stays, is free for individuals who have worked and paid Medicare taxes for at least 40 quarters throughout their lifetime. Part B, which covers doctor visits and outpatient services, costs $185 per month for most beneficiaries.
“Many people get Part A even if they’re not retiring yet, just because it’s free,” stated Ashlock. “Part B comes out of your Social Security check each month.”
