NSDAR encourages genealogy workshop participation
The local chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR) is planning a genealogy workshop for later this month.
NSDAR is an impressive organization with over one million women joining since its founding in 1890. Membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution provides an opportunity for women to educate youth, preserve history and promote love for the country, all while building lifelong friendships.
Several steps must be followed to become a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). First, individuals need to trace their family lineage to identify their patriotic ancestors. Next, they should locate a nearby DAR chapter and complete the application process. Any woman who is 18 years or older may join the DAR by providing documentation that connects her to an ancestor – either male or female – who contributed to American independence through military, civil or patriotic service.
