Brenda Fields

Brenda Kay Fields, 63, of Richmond passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, at North Kansas City Hospital. Brenda was born Sept. 19, 1961, in Richmond, the daughter of Larry Eugene and Nora (Rimmer) Fields. Survivors include her daughter, Amber (Shadi) Jaber of Richmond; granddaughter, Olivia Jaber; brother, Tony Fields of Richmond; and four aunts, Mary (Mel) Holloway, Mary Rimer, Annie Stalder and Pearl Appleton. Numerous other extended relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Terry Fields; and two uncles, Paul Daniel and Kenny Rimmer.

Brenda was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Richmond High School.

She dedicated 15 years of her career to Ray County Hospital, where she was known for her kindness and compassion.

Brenda had a deep love for crocheting and found joy tending to her flowers. Above all, she cherished spending time with her grandchild and other children from the neighborhood, who lovingly knew her as “Me Maw.”

A devoted caregiver to her brother, Brenda had a generous heart and touched the lives of many with her unwavering love and support. She was of the Christian faith and carried that faith through her care for others.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ideal Industries. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held Friday, March 14, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with the visitation beginning at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11. Burial will be in Richmond Memory Gardens.
