Mark A. Noelker, 89, of Norborne died Sunday, March 2, 2025, at home. Mark was born Dec. 28, 1935, in Hardin, the son of Karl Fredrick and Beulah Hetzel Noelker. He was baptized May 10, 1936, at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, serving there faithfully in many capacities.
Mark was a U.S. Army veteran, returning from service to farm in Carroll and Ray counties for 40-plus years before retiring.
He was a member of American Legion Post 551 and the Norborne Lions Club.
On April 12, 1991, Mark married Bonnie Rodenberg, who survives of the home. He also is survived by many in-laws; Bonnie’s children, Billy and Carolyn, and their families; one sister, Sandy Benefiel; and 15 nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by four brothers, Glenn, Rex, Sterling and Karl; as well as two sisters, Arlene Darby and Rosemary Falls.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, The Lutheran Hour or Shirkey Hospice & Palliative Care.
Mr. Noelker lay in state 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Thurman Funeral Home in Norborne. The funeral service was scheduled for 11 a.m., Thursday, March 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norborne, with visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday, also at the church. Burial with military honors was to be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Norborne, following the service.
