Motocross rider gets surprise party of after championship season
Ray County has a champion racer in its midst.
His name is Xandyn Taylor. Taylor, a 16-year-old Richmond High School sophomore, has won four Missouri State MX Championship Series points titles – two in 2022, two last year. In 2022, he won beginner-level titles in the 250cc and 450cc divisions. In 2024, he was the Class C novice 250 and 450 champion.
Those titles are testament to the teen’s talent, according to Jamie Taylor, his father and pit crew leader.
“I can put him on any bike – and it’s been proven – it doesn’t matter what bike he rides; he can get it done,” Jamie said. “It’s not all about the money at this level. It’s about the talent, and he’s the talent and he gets it done.”
But Jamie’s mechanical skills make it easy to get the job done, Xandyn suggested.
“Whatever he does to the bike – suspension, power-wise – I feel like I can handle it,” Xandyn said.
