Hardin-Central is approaching a 20-win season in varsity girls basketball. The girls were 17-6 overall and had won seven of their last eight entering the final week of the regular season. That 7-1 stretch included a third-place finish in the Carroll-Livingston Activities Association (CLAA) Tournament, where they went 2-1 and placed third. After opening the tournament by drubbing Norborne 3714 Feb. 10, the Bulldogs tumbled 45-24 Feb. 11 to Brunswick in the winner’s bracket semifinals and then cruised past Northwestern of Mendon 63-36 Feb. 13 in the third-place game. Hardin-Central has two varsity girls games slated for this week, weather permitting – one with Brunswick, the other with Santa Fe, both at home. Monday’s meeting with Brunswick was called because of the latest snowstorm and cold spell, with a makeup date pending, the Hardin-Central C-2 School District stated on its website. Tuesday’s meeting with Santa Fe has been tentatively rescheduled for Friday, the district stated. …
