Adalynn Elaine Coggins, 20, of Richmond passed away Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at her home. Adalynn was born Aug. 13, 2004, in Liberty, the daughter of Caleb Stephen Coggins and Ashley Coe-Hancock. Survivors include her significant other, Cole Husemann; father, Caleb Coggins; mother and stepfather, Ashley (David) Hancock II; daughter, Aliyah Coggins; brother, Caden Coggins; and two sisters, Mercedes Coggins (Dylan) and Hailey Coggins.

Other survivors include her grandparents, Desra and Wayne Coggins, and David and Linda Hancock I; great-grandparents, Rebekah O’Dell, Max Pike, and Pat and Dean Mather; and aunts and uncles, Rachel Coggins-Jackson, Joshua and Megan Coggins, Christina and Todd Brison, Rebecah and Roger Tanner, Maranda and Tony Miller, Gerald Gaulden Jr., Nichalous and Katie Koontz, Kelli Coggins, Brooke and Rick Lindsey, Mike O’Dell and John O’Dell.

She also is survived by her nephew, Weston Taber; mother and father in love, Nikki (Stephen) Sparks; sisters and brothers in love, Jacob Husemann, Kailee Husemann, Wyatt Sparks and Charlotte Sparks; and niece and nephews in love, Isaiah, Karsyn and Emmalee Husemann. Many cousins survive as well.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents and great-grandparents, Christy Lynn O’Dell Koontz, Beverly and Gerald Gaulden, Susan Hancock, Joan Pike and Matt Coggins, and Elmer Dee O’Dell.

Adalynn was a strong, loyal soul and a truly amazing mother who had a unique gift for supporting those who were broken and offering them care like no other. She was a cherished daughter, sister, friend and jokester, always bringing light and laughter to those around her.

Fearless and full of life, Adalynn enjoyed expressing her creativity through drawing and diamond painting. She found peace in reading the Bible and took special joy in her beloved music box.

Adalynn had a natural way with animals and babies, her kindness and gentle spirit shining through in her interactions. With a deep love for creatures great and small, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian.

Her strength, compassion and vibrant personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with memorial services were held Friday, Jan. 31, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 5 p.m., followed by the services at 6. Inurnment will be held at a later date by the family.
