Missouri 2025 Ag Outlook shows road ahead

The University of Missouri has released the Show-Me 2025 Missouri Agricultural Outlook, which analyzes the current state of crops and livestock in the region. The report highlights challenges and opportunities within the agricultural sector and emphasizes the need for farmers and producers to be adaptable and resilient in response to market changes. “While corn production is projected to decline due to rising prices, soybean production is expected to increase despite falling prices,” said MU Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF) economist Danyelle Chinn. “On the livestock side, declining beef cow inventories may push cattle prices higher, while increasing hog inventories could lead to lower prices.” These trends underscore the importance of strategic decision-making in a shifting market.
