DONNA MAE ROBERTS
The Richmond News, Jan. 10, 2025
Donna Mae Roberts of Orrick was born Oct. 8, 1940. She went to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on Dec. 30, 2024. She was 84 years young.
She was born in Richmond. Since 1964, she had resided at and raised her family on her property in Orrick.
She had been a CNA-CMT at Shirkey Leisure Acres before her retirement.
On March 11, 1956, she married Joseph E. Roberts Sr., who preceded her in passing in April 1997.
She was loved and adored by all who knew her. She always had a meal and a place to stay or a helping hand for anyone in need.
She loved working in her yard, gardening and spending time with her loved ones. She was dedicated to reading her Bible and doing Bible study with her family. Her life was full of love and laughter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Alshire.
She was the mother of eight children: Joseph E. Roberts Jr., who preceded her in passing on Sept. 20, 2014; Chester E. Roberts; Danny R. Shirley; Rodney (Bill) D. Roberts, who preceded her in passing on June 19, 2023; Robbie L. Roberts; Terry R. Roberts; Viola A. Stagner and Cally M. Roberts. She loved all her daughters-inlaw and sons-in-law.
She also was preceded in death by her son-in-law, David A. Stagner, on June 19, 2017.
All of her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the apple of her eye.
Her favorite scripture was John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world, he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not parish, but have everlasting life.” The greatest tribute you can make to her is dedicating or rededicating your life to Christ, seeking the Lord with all your soul and mind. Worship him in spirit and truth. Love and pray for those who persecute you. Forgive so that you may be forgiven. Repent.
Visitation for Donna was scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at the funeral home, with Pastor Art Endsley officiating.
Burial was to follow in South Point Cemetery, located near Orrick.
