Rayville man posts bond while facing possession, weapon charges
Bond has been amended for a Rayville man who is facing two felony and four misdemeanor charges.
Declan J. Cockrum, 18, has been charged with two felonies including possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon, possessing a weapon and a felony-controlled substance. Additionally, he is facing four misdemeanors of exceeding the posted speed limit, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana or synthetic cannabinoid of 10 grams or less and purchase or attempt to purchase or possession of liquor by a minor.
Cockrum’s private attorney, Mark A. Goodwin,
recently filed a motion to modify his bond from $25,000 with surety allowed to $25,000 with a 10% cash posting option.
“The defendant is a member of the community and has a large family here, making him not a flight risk,” stated Goodwin in the motion. “He is currently a student at the University of Central Missouri, with finals scheduled to begin. The defendant’s aunt passed away unexpectedly…
