County to allow marijuana dispensaries
Ray Countians overwhelming voted to allow marijuana dispensaries in the county by a vote of 6,788 (59.165) No to 4,685 (40.84%) Yes in the November 2 election according to unofficial election results. A vote yes would not allow the dispensaries, and a vote no would allow dispensaries in the county.
The question on the ballot read, “Shall Ray County, Missouri ban all non-medical microbusiness dispensary facilities and comprehensive marijuana dispensary facilities from being located within Ray County, Missouri and its ‘unincorporated areas’ and forgo any additional related local tax revenue.”
Reports show 11,764 (74.9%) of the registered voters in Ray County cast ballots, according to Ray County Clerk Heather Maulsby.
In the Western Commissioner race, Republican Bobby Don Davis received the most votes, 4,768 or 73.69% to defeat Democrat Sam Pigg who received 1,682 votes.
