Carol Suzanne (Maupin) Graybill, 84, of Richmond peacefully passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, at her home. Carol was born Dec. 23, 1939, to Gerald and Lola (Gray) Maupin in Wyandotte County, Kan. She married Lloyd W. Graybill on Dec. 31, 1956. They were married for 28 years. They had five children. She was a housewife while her children were growing up. Throughout the years, she worked as a mail carrier and at the Ray County Sheriff’s Department as a cook for many years. She also worked at Walmart for many years and as a waitress. Carol is survived by three daughters, Dana Graybill (Jim Peterson), Eavy Wilson and Cari (Bruce) Klein; and two sons, Delmar (Terri) Graybill and Dale (Grace) Graybill. Other survivors include 14 grandchildren, Hadley, Caley, Chandra (Teya), Christopher (Christie), Joseph (Emily), Logan (Amie), Tessa (Sean) and Seth (Hunter); 10 great-grandchildren, Sage, William, Norah, Declan, Bethany, Patrick, Harrison, Rosaleen, Isaac and Cillian; and her longtime companion, Melvin Palmer. She also is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her ex-husband, Lloyd Graybill; brother, Jerry Maupin; and three sisters, Betty Maupin, Ramona Epperson and Polly Harper.
She had a passion for cooking and canning, and was well-known for her homemade bread, cinnamon rolls and jellies. Some of her many hobbies include collecting antiques and buttons.
She had a love for all animals and loved seeing her grandkids. She had a big heart and would help anyone out that was in need. She never met a stranger.
She will be greatly missed by her family, friends and fur babies. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation with funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 4, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond, with visitation beginning at 1 p.m., followed by the services at 2. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Richmond.
