Local beekeeper speaks to Beta Tau

During the recent meeting of the Beta Tau society, a local beekeeper who owns an apiary near Lathrop shared insightful information about the art and science of honey collection. Miranda Taylor of Windy Ridge Apiary explained how she and her family tend bees and gather honey while she displayed some tools of her trade at the society’s meeting in Richmond. The family tends four hives and gathers about 200 jars of honey each season, according to Taylor. Beta Tau is a Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators chapter. Chapter members gather four times yearly to promote their professional and personal growth and encourage excellence in education. Chapter members raise funds to support a wide range of educational causes, including scholarships and grants to classrooms locally and globally.
