John Graham

Feb. 4, 1944-Sept. 26, 2024 John Clark Graham, age 80, of Jefferson City passed away Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 4, 1944, in Kansas City to William Bryan and Irene (Clark) Graham. John grew up in Richmond and graduated in 1962 from Richmond High School. He went on to further his education at the University of Missouri-Columbia (MU), earning a degree in business in 1966.

It was during his time at the university that he met Anabeth Edwards. They were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1964, at First Baptist Church in Jefferson City.

After graduating from MU, John was hired as personnel director at the Missouri Department of Revenue. He then became personnel manager at Monsanto before starting his consulting business, Management Services. He retired in 2016 after years of dedicated service to his clients.

Over the years, John was active in the Rotary Club, Boy Scouts, Planning and Zoning Commission and the Jay Football Booster Club.

John cherished his time at the Lake of the Ozarks, where he found peace in crappie fishing. He also spent many hours building and flying RC airplanes and was an enthusiastic fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Together, John and Anabeth enjoyed traveling, especially around Europe, the United States and the Caribbean. He also had a love for both water and snow skiing.

John’s words of wisdom, quick wit and unwavering loyalty to those he loved will be deeply missed. His funny yet stubborn demeanor was a hallmark of his character, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Anabeth Graham; one daughter, Stefani Lear and husband Matt of McKinney, Texas; one brother, Bill Graham and wife Alice of Jefferson City; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Private family services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.
