McGaugh named 2024 Legislator of the Year

Representative Peggy McGaugh of Carrollton was honored with the 2024 Missouri Retired Teachers Association (MRTA) Legislator of the Year Award during the MRTA Annual Meeting on Sept. 17 in Branson. MRTA is a non-profit organization established in 1960 to champion the rights and well-being of retired public school educators and staff in Missouri. With a membership of 30,000 individuals across the state, MRTA has become the preeminent and most impactful organization representing retired educators in Missouri. The Legislator of the Year Award is given annually to a Missouri legislator who has shown steadfast dedication to improving and safeguarding public school education pensions for public education employees. This includes demonstrating long-term and meaningful engagement and commitment to legislative priorities that support public education and our public schools.
