Aggies view Santa Fe clash as statement game

Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) varsity 8-man football coach Andrew Watson and his staff have issued a challenge for the Aggies “to make a statement” Friday against Santa Fe at Hardin-Central. The Aggies’ performance during their 52-48 Week 2 road win over Wellington-Napoleon prompted the challenge, Watson said Monday during practice at Hardin-Central. “We got the win – that’s the most important thing,” he said. “But … we felt, coming out of it, that … we’re a better team than what we put on the field (last) Friday night.” Tight end/linebacker Sam Barnett agreed. “We definitely could’ve played a lot better,” Barnett said. Areas of concern for Barnett included knowing assignments on offense and pass coverage on defense. “We can’t give up as many (passing) yards (as we did),” he said.
