Courtney Sisson has her first win – and her second – as Richmond’s varsity girls golf coach.
Led by Lyla Best, the Spartans shot a combined 188 to sweep their seasonopening triangular with Harrisonville and Clinton Tuesday at Twin Pines Country Club in Harrisonville. Best, a first-year high schooler, finished her nine-hole round with a 41 (+3) and was the medalist.
“This … (was) a great start to Lyla’s career and I look forward to what she has in store,” Sisson stated Tuesday via email Richmond captured four of the top five individual spots. Senior Kylie Holland placed third overall with a 47 (+9), sophomore Karoline Dooley took fourth with a 49 (+11) and senior Kayland Cooper placed fifth with a 51 (+13).
Senior Taylor Hoeppner, Richmond’s No. 5 golfer, shot a 53 (+15). The top four finishers counted toward the team score.
“It was a beautiful day for golf and I am very proud of all the girls,” Sisson wrote.
Harrisonville finished second with a 213. Audri Craig led the Wildcats…
