RHS volleyballers hope summer matches build foundation for season

Some summer-league volleyball was what Richmond needed to be prepared for the fall varsity season, according to second-year coach Cody Hogan. Playing in a league in Lathrop, the Spartans faced “some really good teams up there,” Hogan recalled Aug. 12 in the Richmond High School gym. “The girls that we took with us, … I think they hung in there with that competition,” he said. Because of the grit the Spartans showed, Hogan is “excited for what the season’s going to bring,” he said.
