2024 tax levy approved

The 2024 personal and real property tax levy was established during a recent Richmond City Council meeting after hearing no opposition from local citizens. Of the tax, $0.6656 per $100.00 assessed valuation will go to general revenue, while $0.1661 per $100.00 assessed valuation will be funneled to Park Levy. Debt service for general obligation bonds approved by voters for combined waterworks and sewer system will be taxed at $0.4100 per $100.00 assessed valuation of property. In a separate matter, Mayor Mike Wright appointed Joelle Butler to the Richmond Parks and Recreation Board, while City Administrator Tonya William swore in Saige Mason as the new Richmond City Clerk. “She’s been active with her children at the swimming pool, has been a volunteer coach for kids’ teams, and has been very active with the park and recreation,” Wright said of Mason.
