IN PICTURES: RAY COUNTY READIES FOR FALL SPORTS

Fall high school sports are underway in Missouri. Or at least fall sports practices are. Per Missouri State High School Activities Association regulations, area interscholastic fall sports programs began practices Aug. 12. On Aug. 30, the regular season will get underway for 11-man football at Richmond, and 8-man football at Orrick and the Norborne Hardin-Central (NHC) co-op. Richmond’s girls tennis program also is slated to kick off its season that day with a tournament in Kansas City, and Richmond’s boys and girls cross country runners are slated to open the regular season Aug. 31 with a meet at Clinton, school district information states. The regular season is set to begin after Labor Day for the following programs: Richmond volleyball, girls golf and softball; Hardin-Central cross country; NHC softball; and Orrick volleyball.
