Rayville man faces two felonies

A Rayville man recently entered a plea of not guilty on two felony charges. Brian K. Grass, 56, — with charges of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle and third-degree domestic assault — appeared before Eighth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Joe D. McGaugh. Although previously being held without bond, a $15,000 bond was set. He is currently in the custody of Ray County Jail and will appear in court again at 8:30 a.m. on August 13. According to the complaint filed by Ray County Prosecuting Attorney Camille A. Johnston, the range of punishment for the class D felony of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle is imprisonment in the custody of the Missouri Department of Corrections for a term of not less than one year and not to exceed seven years; or by imprisonment for a special term not to exceed one year in the county jail or other authorized penal institution; or by a fine not to exceed $10,000; or by both imprisonment and a fine.
