County Cyber Crimes Task Force dissolved
The Ray County Cyber Crimes Task Force has been dissolved, according to Ray County Undersheriff Steve Mendoza, who was informed of the dissolution on August 1 by Missouri Internet Crimes Against Children.
“Moving forward, Ray County will be an affiliate of the Northwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (NWMOCCTF) which is managed by the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff’ Bill Putt,” said Mendoza.
“We look forward to our partnership with Buchanan County. I have known Sheriff Putt for nearly 25 years, and I know he has the best interests of the citizens of Ray County in mind,” the undersheriff said.
Mendoza said although the department may have lost the full-time Cyber Crime Sergeant, “the Ray County Sheriff’s Office still has three full-time detectives working on all manner of cases for the citizens of Ray County. We will assist the NWMOCCTF in any way we can.”
