Winners of this year’s Harold Strobel Awards will soon be announced. The awards were started 10 years ago by Fraizer Letzig in honor of Strobel, who was active in 4-H, Chamber and Junior Chamber. “He was a good guy, honest and a fierce competitor,” said Letizg. “Each year past recipients of the adult/business Strobel Citizen of Service Award come together to select recipients for the Student Harold Strobel ‘Citizen of Service Award.’” Winners receive $250 and will be announced at the Farmers Appreciation Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the Ray County Fairgrounds. To receive this award recipients must be between ages of 16-18, be members of 4-H or FFA, show a willingness to serve their community or club and exhibit good character.
