Sevice projects in Lawson keep members busy
The Lawson 4-H Club was organized in 1945 by James A. Smith, a longtime Lawson resident. The club meets the first Thursday of each month at 7pm at the Lawson United Christian and Presbyterian Church.
The club is active in several on-going Community Service Projects and helps with local needs whenever possible. Examples of long-term Community Service Projects include the Missouri Adopt a Highway project, Project Linus and two Little Library sites. The Little Library boxes were built by club members and parents. One is located at the Watkins Mill campsite the other at the Lakeview Campsite at Lawson City Lake. This year the club received a grant to assist in purchasing food items including meat to be donated to the local food pantry. Our latest service project is being sponsored by The Shaping Rural Missouri Grant from FCS Financial and the club is purchasing a dog sanitation station to be installed at Lawson’s City Lake.
