Fishing River Township, three candidates compete for one open committee seat

The three Republican candidates on the ballet for the Fishing River Township are Jennifer Houcek, Jonathan Jessop and Glenda Powell. Jessop did not respond to the questions. BACKGROUND Houcek: 46, of Ray County, has an associate’s degree and is a photographer and videographer. Powell: 72, of Ray County, has a high school education and four years at New Horizons. She is now retired but previously worked as a Ray County Clerk. CANDIDATE QUESTIONS What qualifications do you bring to the table that makes you suitable to be a township committeeman? Houcke: I have been involved in local and state politics for three years. I am a volunteer lobbyist for constitutional principles with Liberty Link Missouri. I am a leader of a youth group in Ray County and I believe most problems are solved at the community level.
