Sarah Lee (Bisbee) Carr Hogan, 88, of Norborne passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Sarah was born April 13, 1936, to George Arzy Bisbee and Naomi (Cox) Bisbee. She grew up in the Knoxville and Stet communities.

She graduated in 1954 from Stet High School and married Gerald Sarah Hogan

Carr in September 1954.

She was a member of Knoxville Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband in 1992; second husband, Billy Hogan, in 2012; sons, Jimmy Carr in 2016 and Gerald Alan Carr in 1961; sister, Alice Bisbee Zacher, in 2006; brother-in-law, Wendall Carr, in 2005; and daughter-in-law, Julie Jellum Carr, in 1984.

She is survived by her daughters, Vickie (Johnny) Mc-Ginnis of Hardin and Valerie (George) Acree of Polo; and stepchildren, Bentley (Cheryl) Hogan of Norborne, Ann (George) Eiserer of Carrollton and Greg (Carla) Hogan of Richmond.

Other survivors include her grandchildren, Jeremy (Jamie) McGinnis, Julie (Scott) McClure, Brandon (Jodi) Carr, Patrick (Alexis) Carr and Tyler Acree.

In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren: Kassie and Kaden McGinnis; Kinley and Kottin Mc-Clure; Rylee, Emery and Malia Carr; Kierra Simmons; Conner and Caleb Acree; Amarillis Neff; and Zaria Clemens.

She also leaves behind her step-grandchildren: Kristen (Brian) Wheeler, Kaylee (Paul) Pierson, Kyle Eiserer, Cody (Kelby) Hogan and Cortney (Brennon) Grass. Still other survivors include her step-great-grandchildren: Eden, Hogan and Aven Wheeler; Elias, Naomi and Lydia Pierson; Quinley, Karter and Cooper Hogan; and Greyson and Hayden Grass.

Her brothers, George Arzy “Butch” (Gail) Bisbee and Bill (Shirley) Bisbee, also survive.

She was a great wife, mother, homemaker, neighbor and seamstress. She loved to crochet and dancing. Moreover, she was an excellent farmhand and secretary, and a great cook.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shirkey Hospice. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home; 507 E. Main St.-P.O. Box 190; Richmond, MO 64085.

Visitation was scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Thurman Funeral Home in Richmond. Funeral services were set for 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at the funeral home. Interment was to be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne.
